| Wheel speed?
Any suggestions on how to get a little more wheel speed on my truck? currently running a emaxx tranny,gd600,integy lathe,18tpinion on motor side and 9tpinion on the gd side. Currently the speed is pretty much slow. i have calculated the gear ratio of the truck using the formula on one of the stickies in the forums page it turns out at 156:1. Bty the trucks a Txt 1. The trucks really slow at the moment and when I'm walking along with the truck I pretty much have to wait a few steps behind so I dont leave the truck behind me. Any suggestions?

Step up the 9t pinion to around 15t, that'll give you some wheelspeed back.

Mag mayhem motor. Reverse rotation since you have the GD600.

take out the gd600 and try that, if you need a little more torque put another lathe on.

I tried using a 15tooth on the gd outputside but kinda lost the torque. anyway i have 2lathe motors on the tranny now(used to use a havok 21 on the other side)one is mated to the gd and the other is direct to tranny for regular runs. all I have to do is swap the motor wires and move the pinion a little to utilize the other motor or viceversa.

Check this thread out: http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Mo...ic.php?t=29691 It's the buildup of MudCow's Rock Roach project. Maxx based so look at his tranny mods. New motor plate which swaps them to the other side and drops them right down low. I think he's running 9t with 72t spur with 2 mag mayhems, this setup works very well. Low COG, good tourque, just enough wheel speed to punch it up if needed. |

thanks for the info guys. I like the way JK moded his tranny. really low Cog. I might try that setup if the clearance on the links allows it.
