Do I know either one of you?

The rig turned out sweet Sparky. I'd like to go crawl today, but I got work to do.

Default Flatirons Test!!

Got a chance to run out to the Flatirons comp site this afternoon and do some extreme testing. This rig will give the superclass a run for there money being that it's only a 14" wheelbased rig. I could'nt be any happier with what it would climb. Those of us that are familiar with the wall of death know that it's no joke. This rig climbed up easier then any crawler I have climbed it with. However, the only thing I found was that it lacked tourqe in some of the tight V-notch areas. I now that an 87T spur and a 12t pinion is the absolute smallest option I have with a Pede trans running max shafts. I'm thinking that I only have 2 options, put a gd600 or try the new 65t lathe motor. So I just ordered a couple lathes. Anyone have any luck with these so far. Got some action pics on the way.

Great pictures!

I have a 65 turn Lathe sitting in my Pede transmission with the same 12/87 gears.

I just haven't put the tranny in the truck yet! I'm worthless!

I think that is going to be the motor for this set-up, after seeing his rig in action. This rig is unbelievably stable, but lacks a little torque with the 55t motor.

Got mine on order, hopefully be here before the weekends comp. Let me know what you think about it. Like Bender said, It should work out perdy good. Wish I could find a 70-75 turn.

Default 65t is in!!

Well after a long day of anticipation FedEx finally shows up at 9:00pm with my 65 turn lathe motor. I guess better late then never. I've been dying to find out if it was going to be anough tourqe for this truck without having to use a gd600. WOW, What a huge differance it made in wheel speed and tourqe. Way more then I expected. I could add a 13t or 14t pinion and prolly still have anough tourqe. I also changed out the shock springs and put the black traxis ones in to soften the ride a little. I guess we'll see how it holds up against the supers at this weekends comp.

Maybe I am missing something here, but wouldn't you want to go bigger with the spur on the pede tranny to get more torque? Sparky if you are running a 12/87, try going 12/93 and that should get you more torque. That is the way that it works on an actual pede anyway.

Unless the main spur shrunk since yesterday, it aint gonna happen running max shafts
