Did a bunch of work on my txt project today. I've come to the point of mounting shocks and I'm stuck. Cutting the front and rear of the frames off might have been a mistake but hopefully some of you guys can give me some ideas. Not sure if I'll go with 50/50 or 60/40. At 60/40 it's streching the rear driveshaft almost to the end so I'll probably go 50/50. WB is right at 16" right now. Any help is greatly appreciated! looks cool . i would mount the shocks on the lower frame hole . thay might be layed down to much . you can also take some of the scraps from the chassis or canties and bolt it to the frame and mount your shocks to that . i dont have a bunch of flex with my setup but it works great . my shocks dont have alot of angle on them with cut savage springs in the rear to help with torque twist . |

Cut some alum and make a shock tower, a little something like Benders rig but just not as high?

put the canties on as shock mounts...that would work well...just drill it bolt it on and then drill a hole in the catie then another in the frame and bolt it to that cantie to hole it there...look around there are pics of it... Duke |

get Benders towers and experiment on where they should be placed. Keep it low and use Maxx shocks instead of Savage.

couldn't you have just mounted them onto the chassis with some stand offs or something?

if you use the canti's like that, you have adjustability. you can either increase or decrease the shock effectivity (i dont know if thats even a word but im using it!) and ride hieght by simply rotating the mounts...

Just make some standoffs like Dirk said. It's going to be the easiest way to make it work. I screwed with canti mounts on mine and it sucks. Just more "adjustability" to worry about.
