Default Alternative steering servo location

Hello...

I am rebuilding my TXT truck. It is not a crawler (I have a TLT one for that)... I want to make it as light as possible... So I want to get rid of the chubby bumpers and mount the servo differently... What options are out there? I have looked at the gallery and most of what I see is sevo mounted on top of the pumpkin in the center... what about on the left or right side of the axle a bit like on a Clod?

I'd like to see pictures of different setups... If you have a pict our yours around I'd like to see....

Cheers

Check out Bender's behind the axle steering kit. I've got it on my TXT and it works great.

OK I've looked all over the place. Everybody likes them but I can't find any link for an add or something like that. They are not advertized on Bender's web page. Is he still making them?

Default Here's Two

Here's BENDER's mount.

Here's WRMorrison's

I made a BENDER style one because of the rear steer, but WRMorrison's is nice because it has an intergrated upper link mount.

I had a side mounted servo on mine for a while. It was a pain in the ace to build. I built the one I have on mine now from aluminum angle and it's got an integrated lower link/shock mount in it. What kind of servo are you running?

Here is what I just finished building.... Yeah a pain in the ... but I am pretty proud of myself

I made two identical plates and crafted a little plate with a ball to use as a rear steering lockout...

You should be proud, that looks nice!

I have my servo mounted in the same location, not near as professional looking as yours though......

those are pretty good idea too!

Does the servo touches the tube chassis when the shocks are compressed? Isn't better to have the servo on its side?
