The Muscle 05-18-2006 06:06 PM

oh yea, truck not done yet. name is because i'm working on paint scheme of new body, thinking #13 on roof an doors, so bad luck seemed to fit, :-P also since i`ve had this truck since dec 05 and drove it only two packs before breaking axle and been rebuilding and modding since and waiting for parts, learning a lot surfing this forum though.

tkruger 05-20-2006 07:53 PM

I have a TXT Crawler and a TXT racer. They are two completely different configurations. The racer is run in monster jam type competition. The racer uses stiff sway bars, is lowered to the legal limit, dual 17t motors (class limit, there is an unlimited class that allows any non brushless motor), heavy oil in shock, short wheel base for tight steering with out using rear steer (rear steer = roll over at high speed), uncut tires for carpet and a wheelie bar for when I get to throttle happy :). The crawler is the revers of this in almost every aspect. They are truly opposites.

smokinubyrc 05-22-2006 10:59 PM

tk he was talking about a rock racer im building one out of a tlt and im going with some stifferr shocks and a sway bar set up for it

Hi. This is an older photo of "Bad Luck" there have been a few changes made since then.
The shocks have been repositioned. With custom shock towers on the chassis, and mounted on lower links pushed all the way to end of link.
I also cut the tranny, lowered it in the chassis 1/2 inch.(this lowered the
cog and raised the GC) And I made a custom mount for the bottom of the tranny.
New wheels and tires, Proline moab XLs beadlocks 7 inches.
Chopped up the chassis, more off the bottom and both ends for better
shock clearance.
I've totally removed the body mounts, and lowered the body.
and shortened the wheel base to 16 inches.
I will have some photos on monday.
I'm still waiting for my rc4wd punisher shafts. The first set I broke in 15 seconds never leaving my bedroom. They were kind enough to replace those shafts with ones with stronger pins, but I broke them also. at least I was able to make one pass of my rock garden. but when I tried to pull a wheelie, snapolla. So the new, totally redesigned shafts should be arriving at my door and day, week, month. soon hopefully. Then i can give "Bad Luck" a test run. stay tuned for future updates.

Looks good! How do you like the brushless with the GD-600??? What's the wheelspeed like? Too fast, enough power (probably stupid question), will it go slow enough to crawl???

The Muscle 06-08-2006 11:27 PM

I have no idea.
Without the GD-600 it was to fast for serious crawling.
About 20 - 25 MPH.
I'm still waiting for driveshafts.

The Muscle 07-26-2006 11:38 PM

O.K. rc4wd is totally lagging on the punisher shafts. does any body know what other options i have. as far as other drive shafts to work with stock txt tranny and axle. thank you for not replying with "search"

fuzzhead 07-27-2006 12:39 AM

well use search but i will give you what to search for

revo shafts will work but you have to modify a bit first

rocpede 07-27-2006 12:43 AM

the revo shafts will work on your txt with a little drilling and grinding. and here is the link to help alittle.

rich

The Muscle 09-08-2006 06:53 PM

Thanks for the 411 on the drive shafts.I tried the search thing and it was cool. But any way I ended up putting maxx shafts on. They seem like they were made for the txt. I also have buttoned up the GD-600, spur gear, tranny, situation.
all that is left to do before driving is to install a receiver.
hope to have pics for you all can see soon.8)

Kev808 09-08-2006 07:28 PM

Pictures you took of your truck looks good.
As far as drive shafts, the revos is probably the best ones to use/ or to have.IMO
Make me wanna get another TXT:roll:

Brainstain 09-09-2006 01:18 AM

That HV-maxx is gonna EAT those Maxx shafts.
