Default aftermarket chassis, or lack there of

why is it that we've got clod and TLT chassis coming out of our asses and hardly anything for the TXT? how many aftermarket, crawler chassis are there for this truck? boyer, i think makes one, right? we need the chassis support the TLT has... im kinda getting tired of the stock chassis, i know its a good base but i want something different and i dont have the ability or recources to build a tuber myself...

You can use any of the plate chassis's. Benders, V.Smile, Xtreme Rc's, and so on. Just use longer links. With a little work thay all can work fine.

yea i got to thinking about it and an SW2 woudl probably work ok... maybe if it was just stretched a little but that would be cool... hmmmmm...... i think one of the kaetwo type 3s would work pretty well also. they come blank, undrilled right?

im mainly looking to simplify and lighten my truck...

Most of the shafties being built are TLT's. Lately it seems there's alot less activity in the TXT forum, than the Clod or TLT forums. So, naturally there are more products supporting those 2 kits.

My chassis can work with a TXT, but you can't go much more then a 14" wheelbase.

I use a stock (well cut) juggernaut chassis. Simple and light.

I am in the process of design and build of a JUGGY2/TXT axled shafty stick rig. no arms, no shocks....................no torsion chassis..

should be finished in a week or so.

If it works out well in as a 2.2 I will build one as a super class rig for testingand buy one of them Blue stars

i think if we could get bender (hint hint) to make an SW2 (hint hint) that was like 3-4" longer in the center of the chassis (hint hint) it would be the next big thing in TXT building... look how popular the SW2 is in the TLT world... if it were a little longer and maybe a little wider, not sure really... i think it'd work great...

that would be a pretty heavy chassis. The SW2 is the flavor of the month.

Yep, try the same thing with a stock TXT chassis, and think of it is a blank canvas to work off of. Take a little while to design yourself what you would like to see out of your aftermarket TXT chassis, then print it out and hold it up to a stock chassis plate. Odds are, you can cut up those plates in a way that will produce close to what you are looking for, plus be plenty strong.

Not that a good aftermarket chassis isn't a great alternative, but don't give up on your stock chassis before playing with it a little.

its because the txt is expensive and a emaxx is a better shafty to buy and make into a crawler then a txt. and alot cheaper.

an emaxx is 300 dollars with all radio and electronics. txt-1 is 350 - 360 without radio depending where you buy.

they both take mods to make into good crawlers, but i would say the emaxx is better.

1. there are more chassis kits for the emaxx
2. easier to get parts and hop ups for the emaxx
3. emaxx is more durable
4. spools are available for the emaxx
5. both stock and custom built emaxxes have less torque twist then txt's

i could go on all day, ive owned both trucks and i would take a emaxx over a txt all day long.

The difference between them is irrelevant especially when looking at the total building costs

No need for a aftermarket chassis the TxT already comes with a sweet chassis

Parts are readily available from Tamiya or Tower and hop ups? Motors, ESC?

Durable? In what way? Axle, Transmission?

JB Weld works wonders in a TXT

Torque Twist is inherent in all Shaftys, it just needs to be dialed out!

We can debate this all day long, both trucks have the capability to be built into very respectable crawlers.

Anyhow back on the topic...

I agree with Robb and that the TxT is a “blank canvas”. The factory chassis can be easily modded for crawling, maybe that's why there isn't a big aftermarket demand?
