Default Narrowing stock TXT-1 wheels

I am interested in narrowing my next set of TXT-1 wheels. What do you do with the ribs that span the middle of the wheel? Do you need to grind down the ribs so that the tire seats right on the rim itself?

Here's a pic of the wheel courtesy of Tower:

Yes,
Once you've cut off the outter rings of the wheel, just grind down the ribs where they meet up with the edge of the wheel lip so the tire bead can seat properly. You don't need to grind the whole rib off, as it will still offer some support to the center of the wheel.

Thank you, Dirk. That makes sense and I'm sure it will make more sense once I actually have the wheels in my hand...

I'm just starting building a TXT-1 into a rock crawler and want to narrow the wheels but have questions!!

I cut off the outer ring, OR the inner AND outer rings? I just glue the tires on, or make some kind of ring that looks like a bead lock, glue that to the outside, or outside AND inside, then glue the tires on? Or what....?

I understand I need cut the ribs back for the bead to sit, but am unsure about the whole deal!!

Thanks for help. I'm new to all this and don't know exactly what to do, but I'm anxious to learn.

I'm also anxious for the tech article on mounting BFT tires to TXT rims!! I ordered the tires, but they're backordered til 'end of February', which is soon anyhow!!

There are two "rings" on the wheel. Put your saw right up against the inner ring and cut there. You will be left with one "ring" on the wheel. that is where the bead of the tire will seat and you will glue it.

I might not be geting this, but could you not just splice an 1" (or soever determined width) from the center and not even bother with the inner and outer beads???
