| Servos seem sketchy
Hey guys, I have two Hitech HS-645MG servos with Kimbrough servo savers in my TXT-1 that I have been having some problems with. I am fairly new to this but believe that I have set them up right (I tried to set them to neutral but they still needed some tweaking). Anyway, the wheels start off straight but as soon as the truck starts moving and turning the alignment gets all out of wack and the truck does not run straight or turn correctly. It's like these things have a mind of their own. If I pick the truck up and turn the steering it's fine. What's the deal? Any help on setting these servos up and the issue at hand is appreciated. Thanks. |

The servo saver is probably weak and letting the wheels do what they want.

I had the same problem with mine. It was the servo saver. Since I only crawl with it, I ditched the saver and just use a long servo arm. Works prefectly now.

I use the Kimbrough gas car/truck servo saver (black in color - for metal gears) and don't have a problem with it (but I only have front wheel steering for now.)

PsYkHoTiK, that is the same Kimbrough servo saver that I am using. Last night I took the servo savers out and installed one of the horns that came with the 645MG. I only tested it on the carpet but it seemed to be better. The wheels turned at a stand still (which they didn't really do with the savers) and so far it seems like the wheels straighten back out at neutral. I am a bit worried about breaking one of my servos without a servo saver, but I guess I would have to choose straight axles and better steering first. Other than that, I may just try a heavier duty servo saver. Thanks. |

| I had that problem as well. Ended up using the 645 in the rear and upgrading the front to a 5998. The 645 is good but just not powerful enough to keep em straight all the time. Ditchin the servo saver will enhance performance but you stand a good chance of strippin em, always carry some extras. |
