Default Best driveshafts for Stampede Tranny and Jugg axles?

I have seen Revo shafts, and the regular stampede shafts. With the stampde shafts on my TLT crawler I had to use the steel yokes, the plastic ones kept stripping out. Will I have the same problem with Revo stuff, or should I stick with the Stampede driveshafts since they are cheaper?

Thanks

The Revo shafts are pretty much bulletproof, and huge. Sparky ran Maxx shafts on his 14'r and never had any problems. I'd go with the Maxx stuff myself.

I used the maxx shafts on my 14'r as well, never had a problem. A little cutting on the tranny was required, but it was only a small amount. I know someone who used revo shafts, and he had to cut the crap out of the shafts and the tranny to get them to fit.

Will the steel ends from the Stampede shafts fit Maxx shafts? I used to have a T-Maxx, but I can't remember if they are any larger or not.

Thanks

My new rig showed up today, this thing is SWEET. I built my last one with TLT axles, and it performed well, but I bought this one on EBAY because the price was RIGHT. A Double J Vertical Smile Chassis (with the little shock things), upgraded Jugg axles, nice adjustable shocks (JP Customs) and IMEX Tires (All T's, 5 3/8" tall)

What I have now:

What I built myself, and just shipped off today:

I kept all my electronics to put on the new one, as well as the tranny.

I don't think the metal Pede yokes will work with the Maxx shafts. The Maxx yokes are plenty strong enough and fairly cheap though.

Like Bendah said, the Maxx shafts are much larger than the pede so the metal yokes will not work. The Maxx shafts should be plenty strong though. I believe that's what SparkyJ ran on his 14'r TXT.

Got some driveshafts today from a friend. They are NEW, so not worn any. My dilemma(s):

One fits tight on the Jugg pinion, the other is loose? Instead of set screws, I just ran a screw all the way through, and a nut on the oposite side, I figure this is alot stronger and less prone to fail.

The Stampede tranny rubs the d-shafts, I sanded the ridge off the shafts, I guess I will need to sand the end of the tranny down too? How thick is the plastic in that area?

AND: The pinion in one of the axles will turn almost 1/4 turn before grabbing, seems like that is too much play, to the gears need to be adjusted, or CAN they be adjusted?

Has anyone ever used e-savage driveshafts? They are maxx sized but have the smaller ID. Heres a link to them: http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/82008.html

Since this came back up recently I will throw in my 2cents. The revo shafts are a pita to fit to the pede tranny, but with some dremel work to the metal pede yoke and a revo u-joint you can put the u-joint on a revo shaft. I have been running mine for a while with no issues. The joint that is in the end of the metal yoke will press apart by pushing the small pin out. Then I took and shave the sides of the revo joint down until it fit into the pede yoke, and the ends so that it could rotate in the metal yoke. Also need to shave away some of the metal toward the bottom of the yoke to help with the rotation. The only thing left is to shave some off the ears of the revo shaft.
