| Lower axle gears for TXT?
Not sure if I saw it somewhere, or just think I did, but does someone make lower axle gears for the TXT/Jugg axles? I was running TLT axles and a stampede tranny, with a 35 turn motor. Now, using the same tranny and motor, but with the TXT axles I am using MAXX driveshafts, and can't use the same spur gear, had to downsize because it would hit the driveshaft. Are the TXT axles geared lower than TLT axles to hopefully make up the difference, or will I be geared too high? Also, I asked in another thread as well, but how much play should the pinion have in the axle? One of mine will turn almost 1/4 turn before grabbing. |

There will be that much slop in the axles, from all the gears there are in there. There is a guy on here who makes 4:1 gears for the axles, as stock are 2:1, his name is Egressor(sp)?

Well, I am just going to look for an E-Maxx tranny. A friend has a nice 3 channel JR radio I can get for $50, so all I'll need is the tranny.

With the emaxx tranny, you will have a lot more slop, unless you do the mod to lock it. I put a stock emaxx tranny in my txt axles with 2.2 tires, and I could roll the truck almost 6" before it would take all the slop out. The mod for the tranny is in a sticky at the top of the Maxx section, by Twisted Creations. Last edited by Tanis; 06-24-2007 at 11:18 PM. |

Dang. I was wanting an E-maxx tranny just b/c it is a 2 speed. Figured it would be cool to have a low crawl gear, and a faster drive gear. So the slop is that bad? So bad you can't crawl good at all with it? |

It works fine if you are not competing with it, it's just when you stop, it will roll back, which will add points to your score in a hurry. For general fun crawling, it will be just fine |
