Unhappy Newbie: TXT-1 servo stock gear stripping

guys..

I just completed fixing up the txt, and now, cant get the servo gears to work!!

Servo used: Hitec 645mg

The stock plastic servo saver gear (stock tamiya which comes with the kit, #Q part) keep on stripping. i have to remove the servos and readjust again and again everytime it goes out running.

is it recommended to use the stock #Q gearing parts?
What modification is necessary to keep it running with zero problems on steering?

Pls advice as this problem is ruining the otherwise fun TXT-1!!

The Kimbrough servo savers are the most common ones used on larger trucks. But make sure you get the large saver made for gas cars. I am to lazy to search for the part number right now. GS racing also makes some decently strong servo savers, as well as Ofna.

The other option is to just run a aluminum servo horn, and skip the saver all together. But this can lead to stripped servo gears, even with the metal gears. I just stripped my first servo gear on a 645mg the other day :-P

None of the adapters that come stock with the TXT have the correct # of splines. Get a Kimbrough #124 (the black one). It'll come with the correct adapter to use with the Hitec servos. I believe it's 25 splines.
I used to use it on mine, but still had issues when turning, so I switched to the standard horn that comes with the servo. The plastic arm *should* break before you strip a gear.

I'm using Airtronic VB servos both front and rear and when the truck is on the floor, it hardly turns when stationary. Thats for 13kg of torque. I was thinking of using the stock Airtronic servo saver too. Why'd you guys think?
