Talking Carbon Canty TXT: Mr Bill's Wild Ride

The boss said he thought carbon-fiber would make a good crawler chassis. He didn't have to say it twice, I was already cutting fabric. Maybe I went overboard: 4 sheets of 12oz structural, one layer of 4oz and a layer of carbon-Kevlar weave. Lots of resin so it looks good and won't break. In fact, I clamped it to the table and tried to break it by standing on it, and it held. And I'm a big boy.

The new panels weigh in at 50 grams each, half what the chopped OE frame rails did.

I kept the stock TXT-1 link locations, mostly because I'm a lazy shart and hate making links, but changed up the rear suspension a bit: now it's cantilevered with stainless pushrods. The only thing behind the transmission are links and the axle.

I'm still not 100% happy with the front shocks; I think they should stand up a little more, and the springs rates need some tuning to get rid of the torque twist.

blah blah blah, pics!

Yep, stock TXT tranny, second-gen Novak Crawler brushless, Bender BTA servo mounts and 23mm adapters, Revo shafts, Weenie King shocks up front.

I moved the shocks back to the link pickup points, and now there's way too much flex (nearly 90 degrees) so I'll have to put in some limiters.

Kila, I'll hit those

call me wit your addy.

since were on some bender shit, i think i might have me a nice pair of og Roctopuss shock mounts for the front as well..... if i were you id run some bigger shocks up front, maybe some team blue stars or hot bodies for the savage, if you run these towers you'll need to hack the body.

I need to work on the shocks. 85 degrees of flex is a bit much And the tires rub the springs when I steer.

But it's going to wait. I kinda let the smoke out of the Novak today. Shorting the motor leads will do that.
