Default TXT Alluminati 14" Rock Racer wannabe

Recieved a package from DMG around Christmas and have been taking time here and there to throw parts at it.
Alluminati tuber, very nice work! Very light and nice to work with so far.
AX10 trans, to see how well it lasts, will be inside.
14" on the nose, with something like a 60/40 split.
I hate where the steering servo is located, I may make a bta mount for it.
Biggest problem I have now is driveshafts, I have a bunch of traxxas shafts to work with but, the ujoints are different sizes and the output from the AX10 is 5mm and the axle is 6mm.
Gave up on that to take time to think about it and started to look at suspension stuff.

Have a look:

I have been debating turning my Alluminati into a 14"er, the longer wheelbase and tires would complement the size of the tuber, and look just right IMO. A male Jato shaft will stuff into a female Maxx shaft tightly, but I don't know if the Jato's would hold up in a bigger truck. I have yet to break a Jato in my 2.2 rigs though. Build looks good

Default Progress?

I'm not sure the Alluminati is a good 14"er, but we'll see. Comlpeted the rear suspension today. Now the next hurdle is the driveshafts, this is gonna suck. Called the LHS and they have Jato shafts in stock, I will go and check them out tomorrow. I really hope it works, I have enough shaft parts here that I still think I should be able to work something out, but the 5mm to 6mm shaft size change is a pain, not to mention the AX trans has a 5mm half moon shaped shaft and the TXT axle is 6mm and has two flats and a hole through it.
Oh well...todays progress:

To get the Jato on the tranny you will have to drill the output shaft for the crosspin, and use a hobby knife to ream the inside a little to get it to fit over the half round side. Although I doubt the Axial will hold up long in there.

After thinking about it, I should just order stock AX10 trans yolks and wait for them to come in.

Oh well...todays progress:
RC4WD sells 5mm to 6mm adaptors and 6mm to 5mm adaptors

or make one

they are very handy to have

the axles are HUGE !

my ax10 tranny is holding up great in my Super with BM16 8cell MMx

Use these on the axles then used Pede steel yokes on both ends and Pede drive shafts.

Been messing with it on and off all week. As of now it has steel yolks at the trans and drilled out to 6mm plastic yolks at the axles. Adapters for the axles already ordered. May need to step it up to pede shafts if these fail alot.
The Alluminati is so light I don't have soft enough springs for it, the shocks stand at full extension. Hopefully the motor and battery will help with that. I'm never sure where to put the battery on these things eather.

Basicly completed the alluminati. Brushless motor may be a bit small for this thing. Need to bump up the LiPo to three cell I guess, but battery space is at a premium on this pig. Driveshafts may be on the weak side, fix that when they break.

Uh Oh, I think they may have been a limited adition thing, I can't find the exact thing on there web site now. The closest thing I see now is of 2.2 size.

OK, so it's been a year and a half since the last post on this build... did it work out, if not what changes did you make?
