I had it mounted like that for a bit (sorry, no pics). I used some servo mounting brackets to zip tie it to. Problem was I couldnt get a good enough, secure enough mounting. So one good roll and the battery would come loose. Thats why I moved mine vertically in the battery slot.

Thanks Pablo.......
I came up with the idea of using the top cover of the battery mount but need to come up with some brackets for it

I run a 2/3A pack from time to time and mount it up front forward of the front axle. This is the pack I use at our Scale comps. It's just held inplace with velcro at the chassis and the body also pushes down on it. Doesn't move.

One issue I see with that is the heat from the motor. I'm also not sure what, if any effects the magnet would have on those cells.

Here is a few pic's of what I was thinking using the stock Tamiya parts

This is the top part of the battery tray I put two slots in it for a Velcro strap

And from that I'm looking into these ideas

Here is what i did, i went with jrh outrunner, which is pretty short and a gd-600 for redcution, i think it's 2:1 ratio, but it is pretty slow and makes the outrunner have great low end control and i can still use the stick packs in their original location, i think you can also use the rc4wd with the bl motor and still leave the batt bay functional.
