It all started out with a Tamiya Pajero XC. I never really like the 1:1 scale FJ but it looked good as an rc scaler.. lol.. I didn't really like customizing stuff. I'm more into just buying the parts and putting them together. But in this case, I had to make the wheelbase longer for this FJ hard body. That meant that I had to build my own custom rear suspension. I struggled to keep the factory rear shock mounting points. I wish I knew how to make that mount that goes under the rear axle. But I ended up with another familiar setup and so far it has worked out well. I might have to move the lower link for clearance but to get some decent trailing/crawling, it was good enough. I'm not really liking the tires but these are the only set that I have the fits this height. Anybody knows another tire that has the same outer diameter, let me know please. Pics are kinda sucky but I will update later on with lights and custom front and rear bumpers. Here are the mods: 1. custom 4 link rear (Traxxas ball ends, all threads, aluminum tubing) 2. full ball bearings 3. Integy 55t motor with Mtroniks ESC 4. Integy aluminum rims 5. RC4WD mud boggers (anybody know another tire that has the same outer diameter?) 6. shaved front C arms for more front ground clearance 7. TA-03 front universals ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by gixxerboi01; 07-20-2009 at 08:16 PM.

Very cool. I was looking at the FJ today @ ToyzRus and was wondering if the wheelbase is the same as the CC01. Nice flex shot too!

Thanks guys.. I'm glad the rearend turned out okay. I wish somebody sells upper mounts for the upper links on that rear axle. I'm not really the type who likes to braze and bang a piece of aluminum here and there.. haha.. But I had to do it

Hey there, it's Mike right? I'm Aries and I'm from North Hollywood. I have been a visitor to most of these rc crawler sites but I finally decided to post since I've been getting into the scale rc 4x4 more than before. I was hoping that there are some gtg close by that I can go to on weekends, preferably on Saturdays cuz Sundays is for the canyons and trackdays on my motorcycle

You've been on scale? there are LOTS of local guys and pretty much every weekend there's something going on, often at Vasquez. More likely they go on sunday though. Thats been the usual day. Saturday is better for riding the canyons anyway, less riders, less police. Friday even better. This saturday there's a group going to Corona Del Mar, which from you is probably 60-70 minute drive. Takes me 45-50 from WLA. Its worth the drive. Vasquez is up the 405-5-14fwy and from WLA is 45 minutes so for you should be 25-30. same name. member here called MikeLuther or Mike Luther is the manager at PCH. | |

IT's nice tot see someone take yet another unique approach to the rear suspension..... well, unique to RC, that looks similar to a 1:1 rig rear I hadn't even thought about that style but it definitly gives you some more suspension options like that! Very clean design and implementation!
