Default Soon to be owner

I just ordered a CC-01 Jeep off of flea-bay Im excited. I have a few plans for it. I want to make a scale copy of my old 1:1. Mine was a TJ, but thats ok.

Im going to use a set of dirt grabbers for tires, Integy 5 spoke rims, a 3racing winch, and a regin rc antenna. I am going to give it some lift with a set of rc4wd 80mm shocks. The truck will get its power from a Novak 45t rooster set up and a nimh batt. The paint is going to be the dark green with a brown top.

Thats all for right now but I do have some more scale projects comming.

gotta glue them

But they are quite scale in the way they mount. You put on one of the included hubs onto the axle. Then you bolt on the wheel using the "lug nuts" So in a way they are very realistic. Ill take a pic of the hubs and mounting style later tonight. Ill put it onto my SCX to show how it works.

those wheels use cheap screws. the heads strip easily. do yourself a favor and buy high quality replacement screws for the wheels. You'll thank me later. I speak from experience.

The front A arms are going to limit your lift, from shocks alone. Better to raise the upper mount so you get more articulation but not as much lift. then do a suspension lift instead. This raises the chassis from the A arms and upper shock mounts.

Classic color choice. Should be a looker...

Yep I had problems with those wheels' screws...stripped like hell...I am thinking for drilling and tapping them for a bigger sized screw...pantablo what screws do you recommend for replacements?

Yea I already got new hardware for the wheels, they ones that came with the wheels just didnt feel right to me, to weak. I went with just plain black hardware for the lug nut effect. I just ordered another Jeep body for my next project. Hard body rc cars are addicting!

Just got the e-mail about my cc-01 chassis being shipped and will be here thursday!!!!!!

Well I just got everything from the nice UPS guy!

Here are some pics, note the 2 jeep bodies. One is for the CC-01 and the other is for a secret project. You can guess its a Jeep as well :-P

The paints im going to use for the first Jeep

Some of the parts for the secret project. Just to give a tease. You can guess its going to be a Jeep, yellow, and have a winch

A couple moc-ups, I have the chassis together, just need to put the shocks on, finish the body, and hook up the electronics and its done for now The winch may not stay on this one.
