Thanks, the roof lights are the ones that come with the kit to mount on the front. Two from the Jeep kit and two from a Pajero I built up at another time.

Got a few more details done and figured it was time for another update. Added wipers to the front, painted the mirror part of the side mirrors, mounted the shovel and made a Coleman camp stove to go with the Coleman cooler. Let me know what you all think.

squatch71 01-07-2010 09:54 PM

alright...how the hell did you make that camp stove.....

that rig is sic man

Thank you sir, I knew I should take pics of the build but I didn't. Styrene and patience. Started with a basic box the size of the inset ends. Overlayed the longer top, bottom and sides. Cut a smaller piece for the lid and cut the little details. When you work with styrene think in layers, once you sand it the layers almost disappear.

Wow. You just keep adding and adding! Looking very nice btw.

I've never worked with styrene, so I have no clue on how it handels.? Does it crack easy like ABS? (Tamiya bodys) I really need to buy some styrene and play around with it. What do you use to hold it together, just some CA glue?

Thanks, Styrene does not seem as brittle as ABS but I have not made any large panels out of it so I am not the one to ask. Yes, you do need to get some and play around with it, you can make anything you can dream up. To glue it you need a plastic bonder such as Ambroid Pro-Weld (my favorite) or Tenax 7-R. Good luck.

Another small update....................Made a Coleman lantern/case, not very detailed but then again the real one is just a plain black plastic box with a handle. Used bungees this time to hold the lantern and stove on top. Also reworkded the hook to cable conection for the winch, the first try was just to bulky and ugly.

Awesome jeep....just like the one I want to make in the near future..."thumbsup"

Thanks for the compliments..............The arial is home made,..... ball stud, piano wire, thin copper wire, small antenna cap and some paint.

The winch is made from styrene for the main body and the cable is picture hanging wire. Styrene is not that hard to work with, just think about what you want to make in smaller sections and build up the styrene shapes to look like what you want. Give it a go and show us what you come up with. "thumbsup"
