Hey sid15, great to hear that you've got your CC01 already! Actually, there's a whole lot you can do to mod the CC01, but the most basic, I guess, would be to lock both diffs and get better tires. You've got the steering problem covered since your gpm kit is on the way. A high torque servo like hitec will also give you better steering performance. Ball bearings would also work great. Suspension lifts, changing the rear links, changing shocks, there is really so so much more you can do, but the ones i initially mentioned would basically make your rig run better on the trails. Just keep checking out the rigs and mods here and you'll get so many ideas. Have fun with your CC01! |

Post up some pictures! These CC-01's are good out of the box not much to do to them other than buy the GPM steering kit.

Is the new FJ40 CC-01's body mounted like that with the posts through the body? I kind of liked the way the old ones were mounted.

| Yes, the lexan shell, CC-01 bodys mount just like any other lexan shell. With a little modification it would not be hard to fab up some new mounts with something like velcro though.

Oh dang, I didn't know the new CC01's had lexan bodies. Why the heck are they so much more expensive?!?

you can mount the body without post holes, if you use velcro or rare earth magnets, dont know about the price, but these bodys look great with a bit of tlc mine is mounted with velcro at front and back, and some internal bodymounts I made from styrene on the inner sides. that is mine, though its a custom chassis not cc01 |

| People have had success making links using axial links or traxxas links, rod ends are both 3mm size(not sure tho), hope this helps |

That pic is a custom chassis and not a CC01 just so you are aware. GPM make a rear arm kit and I highly recommend it but you can also make you own as a lot of people have done on here using some threaded rod and link ends.

x2 on its up to you on the body you use...Mine is mounted with styrene posts with screws from under the chassis...no screws on top..and pretty stock these rigs do run over lots of stuff... vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf12bXLAetU bearings are not a must...but sooner or later the bushings will wear out...I got a set of bearings from the bay, ran me only like 10 bucks.. I make my own links using all thread and tube and traxxas rod end kit #1942. Last edited by squatch71; 10-06-2010 at 10:09 PM. |

Same issue with mine, there at the end of the vid. Not enough front weight and a tad top heavy.
