Bearings is the 1st must do mod.

2nd I think would be to fix all the slop in the steering.

3rd would be better tires.

Other then cutting the brick off the front and mabe a small body lift thats all I think the CC01's need. Some are putting better links in the rear.

Yeah locking the diffs is a must. I forgot that one. I did mine when I first built it.

I don't see/understand how other knuckles would change the ackerman, I know what ackerman is (approximately) but I don't get "how-to" behind it...
Can someone please explain it to me in noob-language, preferably with pictures

Check out BGGruffs Pajero. If you are running the stock Knuckles you will have to dremel them a little to allow for complete use of the CVDs. You can also use the upgraded alum knuckles but you will have to mod them also. . They are no knuckles available that change the Ackerman on a CC01 that I know of. Here is the link to the pics of his modded knucklesBGGruff's Pajero Post #16

I did post a pic of the knuckle I dremeled and you can see how much needs to be removed. If you just follow the knuckle when if turns take a note of where it hits the chassis and then remove that part to allow for more steering. Also look at GPM's knuckles it looks like they've made a knuckle that doesn't have that section on it so there wouldn't be any material to remove. Maybe if someone is using them they can confirm this. Actually I just ordered a pair so as soon as I get them I will report and post pics.

It looks as if I removed the area in which GPM didn't include when they made their knuckles.

cvd's, dremel'd knuckles, and a gpm steering kit reduced my turning radius from ~10" to ~4"

amazing improvement. although it takes a lot of tinkering and custom work

Try getting a powerful servo. If you have bigger tyres and a weak servo it may not have enough power to move them
