| New LR3 body
I was at super target yesterday and saw this amazing LR3 that i havent seen before. So I bought it! I wont be able to use it for a while as I have no way of mounting it right now and my 1.9 mud thrashers are way too big for it. But I took some pics of it just sitting awkwardly on the chassis. I extended my CC-01 to 10.5" or so and used hpi e-savage driveshafts for the center shaft. Holy cow my camera sucks. Sorry for the crappy pics. But the body ROCKS! Cant wait to get some materials/tools to get this mounted properly, but Im afraid that wont be for at least a week. |

Nice rover but i just cant get myself to like the new paint scheme on the NB LR3. I like the older one better. This one is too loud. Love the stance of your though.

No. they sell them on a toy grade plastic chassis as a remote control truck. All you do is take the body off and can the rest.

| I just picked up the older, plainer orange one without the "x" on the rear window from amazon for $58.03 and tore it apart a few hours ago. search for "new bright lr3" and you'll see it.

Heres the LR3 with the body finally secured well to the chassis. I dont have pics of the mount yet but I can put some up later. I cut sheets of thick lexan and attached them to both the body and chassis. In the front Ive screwed it in through the chassis, in the rear Im using velcro on the lexan strips. Im going to be using the 1.55 rock crushers you see in the rear shot, Im picking up my 1.65" rims fromt he post office tomorrow and will have it finished then. Ill be posting more pics once its all finished! | |

So I got my new 1.5" wheels in the mail, and they fit fine on the back of my cc-01 but on the front the wheels rub on the screws of the axle!!! Is this a common problem with 1.5s?? Anyone know how to fix this? Flat top screws maybe? These are the wheels I got. Last edited by JoeThePro; 11-08-2010 at 03:57 PM. |

Finally got the new wheels/tires on after fixing the clearance issue. Used a dremel to grind off the little plastic hump on the top of the c hub where the screw went in, and then used an M4 countersunk screw. Saved lots of space and wheels fit perfectly. Also adjusted the wheelbase a bit. Sorry for the boring pics, didnt have a chance to take it outside and dont have a good spot to take photos... and my camera is shitty! Those rims look too small to me.... |

I agree on the rims being a bit too small. Maybe 1.9's would've been a bit better but other than that it is looking really good.

| Well, 1.9 tires are way too big for the wheel wells, so I had to go 1.55. Im going to keep looking to see if I can find some slightly larger wheels to use. Either way, the tires are great!

1.55 rock crushers have an OD of 3.74" so you could try the following 1.9 tyres: 3.78" http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4prowler19.htm 3.80" http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4dgrabber19.htm 3.74" http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4mudslingers19.htm 3.90" http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4thrashers19.htm (these are what I use with my CC01) 3.80" http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4creepers19.htm Hope this helps Cheers Jarrod Last edited by rustykaos; 11-11-2010 at 04:04 PM. |

I think the size of the rim looks really good on there, looks more scale I think, I might have to get myself some 1.55's instead. can't wait to see some outside pictures of this thing! |
