Default Nikko Hilux CC01

Had some time over the weekend to begin my build.
Test fit.

Shortened the wheelbase

Removed the "brick"

I need to mount the body and it is trail ready.
Now to focus on detailing/painting/cutting/etc the body for that scale look.

-stretched the rear fender wells
-filled in holes
-primer

The body in the rear needs to be lowered a bit and the rear wheels need to be pushed back a tad.

Completed the bed drop but still need to sand it to give it a dull look. There are imperfections but I am fine with it, this is going to be a beater and additional damage will be added. I also did a mock of the hood and RX and ESC will be mounted under there. Tiny bit of body work needs to be done before paint and detail.

Thanks for all the comments. I am so picky when it comes to detail, but if I nit pick this will never get done. So the game plan is to put the fine line detail aside and complete the truck so it can hit the trails. Then I can add details and changes.

I need to add the skid plate, tail lights, lights
I extended the wires on the battery pack so you can open the hood to charge. The truck is water proof. So just a little more touches then its time to hit the trails and dirt!

Looks good! I like the wheels you added to it too... How do you like the Junfac kit for the rear?

I like the kit, gives it a little more flex. I really like the skid plate, it makes the body slide over the rocks and the rear link screws that attach to the body would always get snagged. I run this with my SCX10 on the same trails. With skill the CC01 can compete.

Cool! I have the same set-up on mine and like it as well. They are fun trucks to tinker on...

So true....I taken this apart so many times. I was working on a SCX10 Hilux but then I started on this.
