Somewhere a while ago I read or heard that the Tamiya factory in Japan got hit hard with the earthquakes and flooding. I do know a lot of the Tamiya styrene supplies, models and paints went on eternal backorder after the quakes. Someone support or destroy this story as it was only rumor on my end. Marcus |

I can't say anything about the styrene supplies however the paints were on back order BEFORE the earthquakes hit Japan. It was an issue with the EPA here in the states though thankfully they are now coming back in stock. I got that from my Tamiya rep where I work.

They show to be available through Tamiya's website. They show the FJ40, Bronco and Unimog all available still. I guess going to the source is the last resort. Also, TowerHobbies discontinues items constantly. It's about moving stock and bringing in new stock. Take Tower's info with a grain of salt. |

Found the FJ40 kit still available at RPP. Purchased it before we can't find them anymore. I won't be opening it up till Christmas, and I plan to keep it really mild, but I work on a build thread then.
