Default GPM Steering Rack Upgrade?

So on a CC-01 roller I picked up I'm redoing the front end steering matching my other CC-01 which has aluminum GPM knuckles/steering rack/hardened CVD's.

I'm wondering if I should go for the same aluminum steering rack or is there a better one out there?

Obviously the stock has too much play.

My personal experience with the GPM steering "upgrade" was that it is worse than the stock steering. The flats on the vertical shaft where the arms attach aren't deep enough, they round off in no time and then the steering is back to being sloppy.

I've seen a pic of a new steering upgrade that has a new vertical shaft and lower arm as a single piece, it looks promising. I can't remember who is making it or I'd provide a link for it.

Had pretty good luck with mine. (3 of them) I put a little threadlock on the bottom arm/shaft assembly and cinch it down tight. Haven't had an issue yet. The stock 5mm ball ends and rods have a lot of slack in them though - I used better quality ones from Tamiya from thier TA05 kit and it made a ton of difference. I used TRX rod ends on the other two. Still a little slop, but worlds better than it was.

Here's my 2 cents on the CC-01 GPM steering "upgrade".
I got tired trying to get the very poorly designed stuff fit together and customized it a bit.
6 mm alu replaces the thin GPM rod and fits in the GPM plastic collars just fine without bearings. I don't think I will be needing the ball bearings on the shaft anyways. Then I sawed the connections a bit better at both ends and... now it feels pretty solid.
Still have to wait for the threadlock to set before offroad trials, but here's what I did:

GPM kit is shit. Does increase lock over factory plastic shaft, but has heaps of slop. Get the yeah racing kit, which uses parts of the stock steering setup as well.

I like my Yeah Racing setup, i just keep the stock shaft lubed up with grease every month or so.
