Default cc01 gru

What RC4WD GRU are you guys using for crawling. I have a Unimog snow plow rig that I want to make sure has gobs or torque for plowing. I am using a Novak Ballistic 21.5 crawler sensored brushless motor, all stock transmission with a 16th pinion, a Tekin RS brushless programmable ESC and an Onyx 8000mah 2s 25c battery (for maximum weight). Thanx allot for your help and opinions, ed

Go all the way to 4:1 with a motor like that. I had a 55t with no reduction and it was real hard to stay slow. My mate had the same motor and put in a 2:1 GRU in his and it has lots of torque but low wheel speed, like walking speed. I'm running a 45t with 2:1 GRU and like the little bit of extra wheel speed to get up loose dirt. But if you're in snow I'm guessing wheel speed will be your enemy. You could go nuts with something like a 45t and 3:1 which work out as 135t at the wheels, or 4:1 for 180t at the wheels.

I ran a 4:1 with a 55t motor and that was walking speed. I loved it that slow though.

Great, I will ordered the 4:1, i have always run Brushless so I am not sure how the turns translate the brushed motors, any way the same motor in my stock scx10 is perfect but i have heard the cc01 is much faster.

With the adjustable timming of the Ballistic and the programing option on the RS do I have any other non-half@SS way of getting my speeds down and my torque up?
