| Rc4wd 4:1 gru = awesome!
Just got and installed my 4:1 GRU. (Bought it from Henie 21. Good guy.) It freaking rocks! With my el cheapo 55T motor, this thing just creeps along. I yanked a tire out of my steel/aluminum beadlock wheels. Holy wow! Jim |

Oh yeah...anti wear grease makes the GRU much quieter, or at least less rattle-y, and Tamiya M chassis (03, 04, 05) motor mount screws are the correct length for this application. One question: Has anyone ever noticed that the two screws that hold the GRU together stick out the back of it just a tiny bit? I had to shave them down to get the gru mounted flush. |

Good to hear you're happy with it, but I never had that screw issue. Maybe you should have removed some of the threaded end of the screws instead of taking the tops off, but whatever works.

Never noticed the screw issue either. I love the 4:1. I wouldn't do a cc-01 without it any more.

It still makes a racket compared to just the stock gearing, but it helps. I'm using some 3Racing stuff I found at a hobby shop. I'd prefer Tamiya, but they don't make it easy to get. If your plan involves a lot of water or mud, you may want to consider a marine grade grease.
