For steering, I'm reading mixed reviews of the GPM stuff, so I did some more digging and found a few people have used this Hot Racing steering setup and liked it, it is a little beefier and has bigger bearings.

I'm going to give it a try on mine.

Brick mod? Tons of pics!

Tons of threads here too.

Spring for the Tamiya CVD's if you can. The GPM's are OK, but the Tamiya's fit like a glove (of course) and are super smooth.

Any 70mm or so shock will do fine. Tried a bunch of others, stockers always worked fine for me and never leak.

Just wrenched on one of mine this past weekend - a little winter maint. Got me excited to get it out there again.

Mount the motor. With the trans cover off, you can see the mesh of the pinion gear. Make sure the mesh is centered...while the tool makes it easier, you can easily eyeball it. After tightening the pinion, push the pinion in and out of the motor and make sure the travel range is all within the mesh of the gear...you'll be good then.

I'm doing the same thing, but going with a 55t. The stock silver can is useless in this rig.
