Default 27T Motor? Please give me some advice....

I have the Novak Rooster Crawler set-up that is brand new. I just bought it a few days ago befor I got the LCC. I have not set it up yet, but have been reading all about it here at RCC.com.

I was wanting to know what you guys thought about running a 27T motor with the Rooster ESC.

What size pinion would be best to keep temps down?

What size lipo battery would you recomend using with this set-up also?

Please any advice would be great.

i would say to use the 27t armuture in a diffrent can so you can change the timming (there is to much degree of timing in the fixed can) or maybe just go with the emaxx titan motor if you want to keep a brushed set up.

You need to make sure you can lower the timing on that 27 turn. If its a racing stock motor you need to find a modified can it will drop into. Start with the timing zero'd out and a 12 or 13 tooth pinion and see what kind of motor temps you are seeing and adjust the gearing from there. You should def run the axles in on a drill and remove the shims. My motor temps have gone down a lot as I run it more and more. I've also been using a small fan to help keep things cooler.

Thanks killswitch.

The only problem with running a 21T Titan motor would be having to go and buy a new speed control, since the Rooster motor limit is 27T. If I was going to buy a new speed control, I would just wait and get the GOAT system.
