Question Chassis Lean

New to the this crawling thing, but after hitting some rocks w/some articulation my chassis stays somewhat leaned. Is this the suspension binding? Do I need more preload? Stiffer springs? My setup as far as suspension is bone stock.

see the nuts that hold the springs? tighten them down simple as that but some do get stiffer springs for the rear but i didnt feel my cralwer needed it i try to keep them evenly cranked down and the front softer than the rear

Yah I would just work on adjusting the shocks..Should be able to get rid of the lean..And as 2500hd said..Keep the front a little softer than the rear.

Thanks..I'll give that a shot. I ordered some stiffer springs for the back.

As long as everything is moving nice and free, the chassis leaning shouldn't be an issue. I have found out running a soft setup on the rig works extremely well. I went softer on the rear springs to greys with outboarded rear shocks and found it had no negative effects. White springs will work too. Going stiffer rears made the suspension unload on vertical climbs.

I got this big ol wall for incline tests and tunes and whatnot and the chassis leaning was an issue/concern for me. Using what I had on hand I put Losi orange springs on and the lean was all but dialed out and the truck flexes as much and as freely as it did with the white springs on it.

If the chassis is at full lean there's no more suspension travel left and it if encounters something that might need suspension travel, it's over.

That being said I couldn't stand the look of the orange springs with my yellow body, so I put the whites back on hoping I won't encounter such an obstacle at this weekend's event.

Could just paint the springs, or find something similar in black I guess...

Make some covers for the spings I made some for mine, they are nice. Keep the dirt off the shafts for the most part and look nice.

Heck no. Don't like em. Looks goofy.

If anything I'd flat black the outside of the body and call it a Halloween paint job. Take it trick or treating.

I tried the stiffer springs before Jake Wright clued me in on some setup tips when I was at Worlds. I thought I needed stiffer springs but as Jake pointed out when the rear suspension is articulating on verticals, the stiffer springs make the frontend unload. After going back to a softer rear spring I felt that my rig stayed planted better. That being said, there is no wrong setup use whatever works for your driving style and terrain.

Are your shocks full of oil? Is something sticking? Maybe you need stiffer springs?

I agree completely. Terrain being the larger factor. If the truck doesn't work on the terrain, you just can't drive your best.

And me being one to experiment, or tweak, I'll have to try the greys in back.
