Default Lower link rod ends

Does anyone else have a lot of slop on the 17* rod ends?

My lcc is all but new and I have quite a bit. I have put some fuel tubing between the ends at the chassis side to keep them from popping off, but that does not help the slop.
Also i have already pulled one off the link caused by a 18" fall off of my couch. There was only 1/4" of 5-40 thread sticking out of the link. The rod end could easily take 1/2" threaded into it. I tried to remove the threaded rod from the link to replace it with a longer one, but I was unsuccessful.
I will probably end up making custom links because of this, but would really like to get the stock pieces up to snuff. Any tips would be great, also if anyone has found a better rod end with a close to stock angle, please post up!

Thanks, Rob

I put a piece of fuel tube between the links. I cut it long enough that I had to squash it down to get the link mounts to fit back into the skid plate. Since I have done that, I have never had one pop off and it has taken a few hard tumbles down the rock pile.
The fuel tube doesn't seem to affect articulation any either.

That's good news, Can't wait for more details
The 17* 4-40 combination doesn't give you any choices.
Although you probably could get away without the bend.

I have done this mod also, I am referring to the actual play in the rod-end that lets it move forward and back. On my moa it is very noticeable, it lets the whole axle twist.

TowerHobbies.com | 1942 Traxxas Rod End Ball Screw Connector B/E
Are these 6-32 or 5-40 threads? Same length as the stock uppers?

well, good thread necro guys.....doubting jeepial will deliver, seeing as that he, ya know, isn't a vendor or anything. raven, the 1942's are shorter than stock losi ends, by quite a bit. if you want to fix the issue once and for all, make your own links with revo ends. then you have a rock solid end, bigger threads holding it in, and links made to your specs. the traxxas 1942's will hold a 4-40 on a shock, but dunno about 5-40, never tried it.

Thanks for the help. I guess I'm gonna just get the LSA6044 rod ends Erik @ DLuxFab recommends running with his bent lowers and see how it goes.
