ya never really want to get a lot hotter than 170 or 180. I ran my on-road car on brushless and would get around 200 If I pushed it hard without a fan, but a tiny little novak fan keep her cool around 150 or so! Getting a fan is a wise investment on a brushless motor and they hardly draw any power at all! |

so maybe a little help, I dont have my temp gun in my Temp duty station. But i did just install a 17.5 novak motor, mmp and 12t pinion. After a pretty good run i can still hold my finger to it for 6 seconds. Odd question but approx what temp do you think i'm at?

Thanks man, I was leaning towards the 140 mark so i am pretty comfortable with this thing. I ran 2 batts through it today on some super mild rocks and was about the same temperature. I am happy with it and the wheelspeed, torque is about spot on. thanks again

Sounds good to me! If you can't hold your finger on it for more than 2 or 3 seconds, then its too hot! 6 seconds is about spot on for 130-140* |

Yeah that should be fine! I usually ran around 130ish, but I do know that it will start to stall around 180, and self destruct around 210!! That only happened once when I first got it with the bad worms and NO grease!

Mine runs around 130- 140ish after a 8.4v 1500mah and a 7.2v 1500mah so around 35-50 mins of run time on usual steep slick rock, meany climbs and few bind ups. I'm running an 18.5t goat with a 12t pinion works great |
