| Aluminum Transmission Parts Weight Savings
Here's a breakdown of how much I saved by doing the new upgrades (LOSA3172, 3180, 3164) (weight in grams) Old New Part 4.56 1.19 idler shaft 3.92 1.80 slipper My old one was modified with an ASC spring and actually weighed 5.71. Stock was 3.92 9.96 3.60 input shaft 3.56 1.27 dig linkage 7.87 2.82 center shaft 29.87 10.68 total 19.19 Savings With some aluminum hardware swapped in, the total assembly weighed 21.26 less than before. Still some weight to be saved in the outputs. |

At what cost? What's the con's besides a few grams saved to help COG. Also run time increase, if any?

that's more weight than I would have thought. Heck 8 more grams and you've removed an ounce. Did you notice a difference when you were crawling or hae you tested it yet?

Ive been eye balling these parts. Just not to sure how the aluminum shafts are going to hold up to a brushless motor on 3s. Thanks for the info.

My rig"s back together, and running. I changed too much to really tell if it drives much different, but the parts held up to some abuse. First comp on my new set up is in four hours. Time to sleep |

I like it I need to get rid of my steel ones but I don't think I'll go aluminum on the output shafts and I don't use a slipper.
