Yeah.....IMO, HR stuff is only ever good for looks. I've had nothing but problems with their stuff that I actually need to perform a function. I remember getting this part in and looking at those purple things and thinking "wow, I dont remember this being in the picture..."

I'll contact CKRC and see what they have to say....
They did the same thing to me I haven't been back to order from them since they stiffed me like that (its like ordering a ford but getting sent a fiat) I did run it for quite a while tho and it did the job I even shaved it right down to loose weight

They will be in stock monday. CKRC was also out of stock, thats why they pulled the switcheroo. Horrible business practice if you ask me.

Your LCC is looking good, keep it up!

Well, I finally picked up an accurate scale from a restaurant supply store so that I didnt have to weigh my truck up at work. This new setup (the one pictured above) comes in at 5lbs 4.5oz.....not to shabby/flabby....

After a bit more measurements, I get the following numbers for weights at each corner:
Driver Front: 1lb 7.8oz
Pass Front: 1lb 8.0oz

Driver Rear: 1lb 2.4oz
Pass Rear: 1lb 2.7oz

Front total: 2lb 15.8oz = 3.0lbs
Rear total: 2lb 5.1oz = 2.3lbs

This means that the weight bias is about 78% toward the front. However, it looks like my driver side is slightly heavier than the passenger. I dont think it is enough to make a difference and would certainly be easy to fix by moving a few electronics around.

Wow....two posts, two completely different crawlers, almost the exact same results.......

I've been enjoying driving this thing lately. I picked up some of the D-Lux knuckle weights and got them installed:

These are VERY nice pieces. Everything went together well and easily. You will need to grind a hair off of the front of the C (which I have not done yet).

I'll put some runtime on these this week...

Cool

How much weight were you able to add with those knuckle weights?

About 3.3oz per wheel. With the weights you see in the picture, they can be setup for either 2.3, 2.8 or 3.3 oz....

You're at 57% front weight I think. 3/5.3=.566
Regardless, nice round of tuning while I've been away dude! Glad you are liking it.
If I was to do it over again(probably more of a "when") I'd only use the hard spur and slipper delete. I'm not happy with all steel in the tranny. Noisy and heavy. And don't try the alum dig plates either, plastic is superior.

Those shocks are BY FAR, the best I have ever used. They are MUCH smoother than the Traxxas Bog Bore and they dont leak a drop.

I get them from Amain:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Cap-Shock-Set
However, you might have to find them closer since I dont think they'll ship to Germany...

Good catch Shell! The front weight should be divided by the total weight.
Now (with the knuckle weights), the numbers should be as follows:
Front total: 3lbs 6.4oz = 3.4lbs
Rear total: 2lbs 5.1oz = 2.3lbs

Which gives a front bias of: 60%

Glad you are back! Yeah, I am happy with the tranny setup now....no more broken parts. I do, however, keep breaking CVD pins....got a set from Gunnar on the way.

So what should we be shooting for with weight bias? 60% front and 40% rear or is there a better number to shoot for?

That is really a preference thing.....not one answer will be correct. Personally, I like to have the balance point (of all of my trucks) located right where the front lower links attach to the skidplate at the chassis.

I finally got a good ESC for this thing: And this truck brought home the big ribbon at its first outing.
