what motor are you running, pinion, esc, battery? have you checked the worms to see if they are corectly cut (only for older versions) have you lubed the axles up good, and keep them lubed? from what it sounds it seems to me that you have a brushed motor and a pinion gear that is too tall, your best bet is to go ahead and dropo the money on a 18.5t Novak goat brushless motor and esc system |

First had a GTB with a 21.5 but now have a rooster crawler with a 55t have a 12 tooth pinion and a 2s 30c lipo. Have not checked worms or lubed anything yet. Just got it used and is my first crawler. Just want to know where to start checking first. It does grind a little every second or so in a full turn going forward. And thanks for the help.... |

if you read his most recent post he is using a 55t brushed so no sensor wire. but the problem could be a combo of the worms needing lubed and the crappy 55t motor which is way to slow for a losi cc

| NONE they suck in the LCC. i tried 3 diffrent brushed motors in mine and i was never happy. it either had wheel speed and no tourqe or little to no wheel speed and little tourqe. even the owners manual recomends a brushless system. once i got a brushless system i never looked back at a junk ass brushed motor for the lcc, you will never be happy with a brushed motor in it, they just cant handle the speed and tourqe needed for worms i run a 18.5t goat system, 2s 1300mah lipo (7.4v is the min IMO), and a 12t pinion and its great the right amount of wheel speed and just the right amount of tourqe. |

| Motor Brushed orBrush- less
Losi 17.5 brush-less crawler motor, it has gobs of power. No worm stalls at all . I can drive it up a wall. { The 3S lipo's pack a punch.} Make sure you axle halfs are not over tightened . Grease the worms up good and tighten the axle halfs up just enough to call them snug, I did this when I was checking the worms & shim set up . A free running, smooth as butter drive line is key to having a trouble free Crawler . Double check your gear mesh and make sure you can rock that pinion back and fort a little . Then check it by rotating it around one complete turn to check for high spots. If you really want to stick to using a brushed motor . I have read 35 turn crawler motors seem to be the most used. Check out what the brushed motor guys are using in the Picture forum . It may give you a idea on what motor is best for the LCC . I'm still a newbie but catching on quick. |

| Bec A BEC is a: {Battery Eliminator Circuit}. Using a external bec instead of the one built in your ESC if it has one { only goes as high as 5 Volts} lets you select what voltage you want your servos to run at. {6 or 7 volts } are needed for a good steering servo, Plus it will let your ESC run cooler by eliminating the stress dealing with both loads rather than just the speed controlling. The Castle Creek B.E.C is the one to get. Don't forget to get the usb castle link to program your set up.

do u have plenty of grease in the diffs, lubricating drive shaft cvd's helps as well. most people over look those, they can get rusty and start to bind up.

I found a very small syringe used for injecting fluids like grease or oil. Works great. I can put the needle inside each area and fill em up. Go through the tips on the top of the LCC page and take care of the needed service and suggestions listed . There are some great tips and dont forget to lube your transmission. Those dig forks and gears need some grease as well. Drill a access hole for those too. Best advice for a motor is go brush-less. |
