| Pinion Gears
Being that the LCC doesn't come with pinion gears for the motor. Where do you guys get your gears from ? They are 48 pitch for a 3mm Motor shaft , but where can you get some good sets for you crawler. I need at least a 13/14/15 to go with my Xcelorin 17.5 motor. My LHS doesn't carry any in stock. Nice ahhh "WTF". Thats what I said. I only have a 11 tooth in my Hobby room and I am still waiting for my crawler to shop up. Now I will need to wait for some gears. Ahhhhh I did order some losi pinions but that might take a while befroe they show up. Any good recommendations other than the losi pinions??

What kind of hobby shop doesn`t carry pinion gears ? Losi and Robinson make great pinions and can be bought anywhere , well except your LHS |

| Oh yea you ain't kidding about that. I Blew a cork man ! "WTF" Thats just what I said too. OMG I couldn't beleave that they didn't have a box full of aftermarket pinions at least. Not a one in the store and it has tons of Heli's and airplanes , models, trains. etc etc. But not a one 48 pitch gear that would fit a LCC motor. They looked everywere and had to order them. Now I have to drive 35 minutes one way again to pick up the 13/14/15 tooth Losi gears. I found some others that will work on line but wondering if you guys order yours on line. But of course I am sure you get your at your LHS. Can I run it on a 11 tooth for now ? I have one of those in my Hobby room. Or will I have to wait until my gears come in??

11 will get you going , just won`t have the wheel speed of a 14 . I prefer 14 tooth with a 17.5 motor . I have a pinion caddy full of pinions from years and years of racing . But occasionally I do need a pinion and buy them from my LHS .

Run something quite a bit higher than an 11T on that 17.5. IIRC, I've got a 17T with that motor on my LCC....

13 to 16 is pretty much the sweet spot. Buy Losi pinions, so happens they fit perfectly. |

| My LHS not having Pinions is stock = stupid !
As I mentioned I ordered the 13/14/15 tooth losi pinions. Only problem is I may need them before they show up. If I'm lucky I hope to see my LCC at the door tomorrow and the DX3R by Friday. So over the week end I can do the Tanny's worm gear set up and greasing and the rest of the tips you guys recommend, and install the ESC , motor . Bec and get this rig rolling' . I would hate to just be waiting on a frigging pinion gear cause the LHS does't carry them in stock. Maybe I can push it over the rocks yeee haaaa. |

DO NOT RUN THE 11t! the lowest pinion count a Losi can use is 12 due to the motor mount oh and you cant push it over the rock either cuz of the worm gears! |

I tried to make it work. by the time I removed enough material to make the mesh work, there wasnt enough material to keep the locknut in place to tighten the motor clamp. If you made it work, more power to you!

I will just have to wait or see if there is another Hobby shop around that might carry one I can use . Or just wait it out and look at it. |
