Default New guy with first rc ????

Hello
I have been reading this forum on and off for about a year and finally broke down and bought a comp crawler. Wanted to buy a cheap crawler ( $240ish ) but only thing in stock was a comp crawler. The store was not a good crawler store and knew about as much as me ( nothing ). So this is what they sold me Losi Comp Crawler, Tazer 15T ESC, Matrix Pro Lathe motor 65T, Futaba S3050 Servo, Venom 1600 nimh battery.

Now looks like i have to dump more money into it. What do i need to do to get more run time out of it? Or just change in general. Just want to mess around in the back yard with it for now.
Thanks

for one the losi cc works best on a brushless system but brushed can work but not that high of a turn more like a 35t but they need lots of maintenence. run time are generally below 30min of the losi because of the worm gears and the worms also will smoke the average brushed motor in a full battery pack or two if you arent careful. to get the most of it you need a 3ch radio with a 3pos switch, a mini or micro servo for the dig, a steering servo with atleast 300oz/in of torque, and a brushless system that can run 3s lipo. the steering servo you got will work but is very underpowered.
