| pinion size for a 35t in a LNC
well see as how i managed to loose the stock pinion off my moter during the last comp it is time to replace it with a new one. only one problem i don't know where i should start. I am not sure what size was on there as if fell off and we were unable to find it (it was the stock one that came with the truck RTR).

yeah stock is 20. i'm running a 15 on a 27t and a 400 puller and its about right. with the 20 tooth pinion, it was way too much for the 27t. never have tried it with the puller....never going to either, i like that motor too much to overgear it that hard, even the 15 is a bit aggressive for that. for a 35t, i'd go pick up a 14, 15, and 16 tooth and try each one starting with the 15. need more speed, bump up a tooth to the 16, getting a bit hot or want more torque, drop down to the 14.

Ive ran a 20, 25, and 28 with my 35t handwound and 25 seems to work the best..... you can get your motor very hot this way and might possibly even kill it, but I like the torque/wheelspeed best here

I ran the stock 20 pinion when I was running the 21t Titan motor. No heat issues for me.
