| zeko's LCC for 2013
I decided to do a sporty for 2013 and i chose a losi as it was my first real competitive crawler... Here are some of the specs but ill let the pics do the talking... Y town CF wheels of course 4" traxxas big bore shocks Standard Chassis with custom made cf shock towers LNC driveshaft upfront and MIP in the rear Gunnar body posts BWD rear link mount Lunsford ti links Custom made CF servo/batt mount Alloy Screw were possible Tekin RS with 17.5 BWD rear link mount [/quote] CF shock towers Custom made CF servo/batt mount As you can see in the pictures i have decased the rx and bec to drop the weight but i didn't do the esc and I also wired the bec directly to the servo to also drop the weight. All I'm waiting for now is my dlux knuckle weights which should show up anytime now.... I was very surprised at the weight as i haven't used a lot of alloy screws or i haven't used alloy hollow balls, or nothing drastic like we do with our pro rigs. At the moment without knuckle weights it sits at 1775grams (3.91lb) and with an estimation with weights it will weigh about 1920grams (4.23lb) |

Cheers guys. I can't wait to get out and drive it on some rock. From the little testing I have done with it, without knuckle weights, it seems to handle really well. |

I like all the CF you have on there. Did you order it or are you cutting it yourself? Looks great. Especially like the bead locks. Looking for some solid ones right now myself lol.

Bit of an Update. I switched out the lcc tranny for a lnc tranny which feels much smoother at low end speeds. Ive been out for a couple of test runs and it feels very well controlled on the rocks, I still need more drive with it to get use to it but so far so good. Weight is now currently at 4lbs (1827g) Here a quick little vid that i have.... zeko's losi doin its thing!! - YouTube |

Unless I'm missing something, the primary reason for your light weight must be the light wheels and I assume no internal wheel weights. A couple years ago when the LCC was the bomb for 2.2P, the factory guys were running pretty heavy wheels/weights. 18/10 oz if I recall. They wouldn't have done that if it didn't work. Is it possible you've given up performance in going light? Or what's changed?

-Try uncut rovers or sedonas with first gen foams on a light setup.. -Try cut n shut Bosclaws with dual stage soft foams on a heavy setup.. Both are not going to drive well.. Its all about the basic's I guess. Better rubber, profile and soft foams give you the same amount of traction on the rocks. But then again, it mut be a light rig to keep sidehilling capbillity. The heavy rig can allso have good traction, but don't supply them with soft foams. It will wobble every where and sidehilling is greatly compromised. Overall there are better drivers, better stuff and more demanding route's nowadays. I hope this makes sense? | |

Going light is one thing, anyone can drop knuckle weight or wheel weight, but you have to do it smartly or you'll hurt performance, on a shafty, if you're not ready to invest in lightweight chassis and tranny stuff you'd better running a fat pig because you'll hurt perfomance. The position of the CG is the most important thing. Before removing weight under the cg focus on weight above and behind. Great looking rig Zeko, very very clean I enjoyed your vid |

Well i finally got sometime and I decided to do a tranny flip.. It was a fairly easy mod and i wish i had done it sooner and i also got a HR alloy output shaft as the stock plastic one had started to crack.. As you can see in the pictures i have mounted the shocks differently in the rear, and i also bent the rear links for more clearance.. So far it feels good to drive but next weekend will be the big tester.... |
