| Looking for gearing help
I have a losi comp crawler that I changed to a 1.9 scaler. I changed the tires to pit bulls which are 4.45" Which is where I need help. I know the factory tires were 5.2" and the tips section recommends 12-14t pinion. My truck is running 15t and I'm kinda lost figuring this out if this is about right for gearing. Now I'm not sure if this matters or not but I'm running the Novak goat 18.5 2c motor. Thank you in advance.

Unless your running into temp issues with the electronics or axles you should he fine. Gearing is more about testing than anything. You can get a baseline from other people but it may still not work for you. I have the goat 18.5 motor/ESC combo on 3s an I'm running a 16t pinion with the HD gears. I only use it for gate to gate style crawling so I don't have any heat issues but if I was to use it for trail type running it would overheat pretty quick. I would just run a few packs threw and check you temps if they are high go down if there ok an you want more speed gear up. No matter what gearing you have though if you run those worm gears long enough they will start to heat up.

Ok thanks I guess I'll just jump one tooth at a time and test. We crawl/trail ride for about 2hrs strait motor usually only warm with 15t on 1.9s
