| Best Trans for losi axles?
I have a pair of losi comp axles, building a custom rig. I have R2 with dig but it's incredibly, painfully slow. So rebuilding the entire truck I figured I'd swap out the trans for something a little better suited to the axles and figured I'd throw a. Mamba Max 5700kv motor on it since it's just laying here. What trans do you think would be best suited for the axle motor combo, or just for the axles and a different motor. Might put something else on it anyway, might have something for the 5700 besides this. Mostly looking for trans options, not motor suggestions so much. | Re: Best Trans for losi axles? Hi, it depends on what you want do drive. If you want a dig gearbox, the stock LCC one is the best... Or If you like to drive a Sporty/Shafty you can go with a LNC Tranny. May you need for this motor some aluminium or steel gears by HotRacing. They are avalaible for both gearboxes Best regards Jeffrey |

My plastic gears in my lnc trans have never been replaced. They have lasted a very long time. The lnc trans are smoother IMO and lighter and smaller.

Would that trans and axle setup kill the Mamba 5700? Don't necessarily want to buy a sensored system right this moment. More important things for that kind of money. If so I'll just stick it in my Hill climb buggy.

It would be op to run that motor. The worms would get extremley hot. I run a 13.5t around 3300k snd thats like max to run on worms.

As Pajey says that motor is a non starter for those axles. The Losi axles should be run at low speed (on average) or the worm drives will overheat! You can do few second bursts of higher speed, but that's it. (Read more about it here.) Your motor will provide high power at moderate voltage, but is less power efficient and relatively low torque. To low torque for use with the LCC tranny, but could possibly be used with the LNC tranny in combination with a small (<15T) pinion. |
