| HD worms or not?
How can you tell, visually, if you have HD worms or not? I bought a used rig, and I'm not sure.

Look at pictures or count teeth.

The HD spool will have 21 teeth. The stock spool has 25 teeth. You can tell which you have without taking it apart again by noting the number of driveshaft turns it takes to make the tire go one revolution. The spool advances one tooth for every turn of the driveshaft, so a HD worm set will require 21-turns to make the tire go one revolution. Jerry

Just to add: The ideal setup is to have HD worm drive in the front axle and stock drive in the rear, so check both axles.
