If you're still playing with the steering design...putting the tierod bta is of small advantage. You can run a front tie-rod bent so it fits just below the servo plate and above that round pinion shaft cover. Virtually totally out of the way. But somehow getting the steering horn/drag link bta would be a big deal. That's what sticks out and hits rock. It's on my someday list.

I was thinking that too, similar to the one I run on my sporty but I don't think Im gonna get full steering as I do now. With the XR conversion on the front axle Im maxing out the 70* both directions.

The servo arm BTA would be great (and do able) I just don't like the cosmetics of it all. Ya I like it all to look good too lol

That would be a negative sir ..... Ran it, broke the weld on my front axle then parked it when the un-Stuck came up.

Ok so now Ive got updates

Ive been stalled on this truck for sometime, it was just to many projects and not happy with my front axle. Now thats fixed and been fun getting things together on it.

So been following along with CodyBoy on his front axle conversion and got lucky enough to get my hands on one early.

Couple hours of adding my touch to everything and putting it all together I had this

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...pshuyxwqxn.jpg

And after figuring some front upper and lower links out ...... I was sitting with a stander

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...psinznu0cs.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...psm15ecrto.jpg

Two things Im gonna try on this. First one is a Tekin B1r esc, yes I know its probably gonna blow up but its worth a shot. I ran these in the beginning of my MOA days on 13T Crawlmasters and 3S with no problems. So decased and rewired it fits nicely in the skid. (damn cap is too big for under the aaxle plate)

The second thing is Im trying our Insidious transmission again. When I ran it in my AX sporty it just didnt feel like it was low enough. I always felt like I had no low end ooomph from it even with some stought motors. It ran like a wraith running U4 lol so with the worms Im hoping it will be a better match.

It is heavier then the LNC tranny but worth a try.

So there she sits for a couple weeks. Have to finish wiring everything up and get some rubber under her plus a few loose ends. And our weather just went from 40s to SNOW and now back to 40s so we'll see what mother nature says when its done. "thumbsup"

Looking nice Bob, I sure hope these axles work out! I think alone there are some weak spots, but when it is all tied together it becomes a pretty solid unit.
Are you going to hang some more weight on the front? Once I get these first five done I think I will build one for me before I start offering these."thumbsup"

Ill have some wheel weight added to it but I dont think much will be needed. The axle itself has some good weight to it with the brass already. Ill get a baseline feel for bias once shes running and try some different tuning before dumping wheel weight at it though.

that's what I want to know as well. ive got a project im working on right now and im going to put ud gears in some ar60's and will run a 9tooth pinion with a low kv setup.. not sure if my lnc trans will work. would like to know the ratio. "thumbsup"

reason being.. my freestyle trans is too big as well as a ax10 trans. I do believe I have room for a reduction unit though.

Yup but I forgot what it was. Ive got it written in my notes at home but memory has the number 1.5:1 stuck in my head for some reason.

LNC is 1.2:1 i think or was that the LCC?

LNC Ratio: 2.27 to 1
LCC Ratio: 1.33 to 1

Thanks for that. I found gears I can use to try another scenario too. Im not the quickest learner when it comes to figuring ratios out but Im trying to get my output shaft to double (or more) the motor. Would love to get it to 4 output rotations to 1 motor but have to work some math soon.

Hey Bob, I have been thinking about motor, esc and gearing for my Losi. I have a Holmes Revolver S stubby 540 2000kv I have been hoarding for a couple years for this build. It is 100 grams lighter than a Tekin 13.5, what do you think. Good, bad? What esc? Or should I just send it to you for your tranny?:ror:

Im not sold on my trans yet lol. Right now with a 22t pinion and the Crawlmaster it seems about the speeds we had 5 years ago brushed. The esc wont hold 4S so im holding out to go with a Puller 400 soon. Im also playing with some other gear ideas that would hopefully overdrive the output. All that is still some time away from coming though.

Im interested in how that motor could work, just read his site and didnt know it was sensored. I would try it, I think it could actually work well.

Im a Tekin fan for brushless crawling and for some racing but I dont know how that would pair up with his motor. Im betting Castle and Holmes ESC's would be the better ticket but theyre all about double the size of a Tekin.
