| The time only build
I wanted to see what i can do with just time to build a losi. All these parts i made, modified, or bought (already had on hand). So time is really only the factor for me here. This is really just a learning project as far as geometry goes. I started cutting after some thought. Found some links. And went through my batch of axles to find out what axles have what gears in them. So far: 21 front 25 rear Stock trans Stock chassis (heavily modified) C.I. low degree bent rear links Blue monkey wraith front uppers as front lowers Homebrew stainless front uppers and sleeved aluminum rear uppers. Carbon rear aluminum front shock mounts Lcc braces Brass homebrew frontplate. Ignore the motor. I might get a 24k 10.5 trinity again. Onto the pics. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk |

can't wait to see what you got in store. going with standard tranny, no dig I see. Are you gonna run a set of upper shock mount braces on the rear like your doing on the front?

Its not flexing under articulation. But i will be doing a 3d printed stock skid so i can fill in some of those gussets to help with any flex. I like the stock plates like this. Only time will tell if i wasted the time i put into this stock chassis. Ill be picking up a KB unstuck v2 here shortly. For a full all out build to compare the performance. I had a v1. But seen he updated and never got around to getting a v2. First line of issue for me is the rear shaft. Stock lnc is to short for this modded stock setup. I used a lcc shaft for the front. Pics to follow tomorrow. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk

Same problem I had with the rear shaft lol. Stock LCC was my fix, or an Axial if you got any laying around. You like those 24K motors? Just wondering, I never saw anyone have good luck with them. Bad sensor boards, eratic timing if you tightened the timing screws too much, hot easily. The Losi skids are in Shapeways now for the un-Stucks, both versions. I added material to the inside to add strength like youre talking about. Dont know the flex differences between delrin skids and printed ones so I took the safer side. Besides the weights relatively the same so wasnt hurting anything. |

stock lcc is 37 grams where as the lnc is 17 grams. I put the lcc in the front. I don't want to run a heavier shaft in the rear :( if I can find my 1/8 scale driveshaft cups... I might be able to scrounge up a custom shaft I can then turn down a bit in the lathe. the shapeways printed skids are hard to beat as far as durability and strength goes. I seen that you got the losi skids out. I even mentioned that trashy pants should get a pink one (not on the losi skid post) onto the 24k motors... I had a 10.5 in my 22-4 2.0 when I was racing. I liked it a lot. never got too hot. though my shorty pack did like to come off the car a little puffy with that motor. maybe I wont go with the 24k. they are pricey anyways. had no time for pictures this morning. had to change the oil in the daily exploder before work. here I am. typing this when I should be tuning some PID's |

Do you have a link, it is a direct replacement or universal skid your referring to?

Let us know, i'm sure some will pick it up and i'd be interested. Nice to have options, especially if it slides over rocks well.

Just a tad to long. Been looking into the centerd trans shaft mod a bit. Found 2 variations other than stock. Looks like ill have to lower the height and can scrape by by using the stock lnc shaft. Or... I can use a shaft thats 5mm in dia. Just cut and put a ujoint on the end. Too much thought just for a rear shaft to save weight in the rear. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk |

This trans setup may work for another chassis style but the stock one not so much. I would have to cut away too much material. On the other hand i managed to get the stock driveshaft to work for the rear. With motor and servo the balance point is right infront of the lower link mounting rod on the chassis. I plan on mabye designing a trans shaft mount and add a few holes to the new skid so we can drop the mounting points on the motor plate for the skid. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk |

Wheels showed up. Sanded the inside of 2 tires for the front. The sharpie will be the pattern i cut in the treads. My favorite crap tires. These are the axial kr2's. My cut i like to call them kr2.5's. Similar to the kr3 cut. But i cut them like this about meh.. 3 yrs ago? This rig should be a runner sometime this week. Though ill upgrade the electronics probably this winter. Im just going to use some basic electronics for now. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk Last edited by CM9000; 08-01-2018 at 03:36 PM. |

Skid is in and fits! I measured thrice and got 1 thing wrong... The damn angles.. The sideplates stick out a mm or 2. So the measurement i went off was wrong. I didnt account. The invisible width of 2-4 mm. A 2 minute modification in tinkercad i screwed up. Oh well. Guess ill fix that today and while im at it start my super losi skid. The old skid was so flexible.. So now i have to buy thinner shims for the lower link seperation at the skid. .5mm should do. Next up after the skid is some glueage of tire to rim and esc plate off the front plate. Its time for this rig to get some upgrades, and a brother. Its brother will get a little more upgrades and go farther in depth on the axles. Shooting for the same chassis design with red plates. Reds axles will be built same as my super based build, just narrower lol. The transmission though may be different but similar to the super build. Red might also get some dlux goodies.
