Default ETRC 2011 Season (October Start)

This is an information thread for the 2001 season. We can use this for discussion of how we run the comps. I imagine this will be really helpful for new people who want to come compete and for veterans to discuss how things operate.

- We are shooting for a 7 comp season, starting in October and ending in June. We try to announce dates as far in advance as possible.

- We operate a point series for those attempting to go to Nationals. Everyone will earn some points, even if you only come to one comp. Anyone can comp and anyone can win a comp... even if you aren't interested in the series. It's GREAT fun.

- If you are at the comp and you help in any way (judging, setup, clean up, time keeping) you earn 5 points.

- If you place 1st, you earn 10 extra points, 2nd 9 extra points and so on.

- Everyone is allowed to drop one score. This helps if you miss a comp.

- We tech the trucks before each comp, and we set up courses one hour before the posted start time of the comp. Everyone is encouraged to help set up.

- There is a $5 fee to enter the comp. This is used to help with supplies and the raffle prizes. We will try to have a raffle prize for every comp. You get a ticket with your $5 entry and you can buy more.

- We will run each class as long as we have at least 3 trucks in that class. 2.2 class (5 courses) Mini Class (2 courses) Sportsman (3 courses) Supers (2 Courses). We need as many people as possible to set up courses as they will all be set up at the beginning of the comp. As long as people keep running their courses, we will have time to get done.

- We alternate locations between the Knoxville area and the Chatanooga area. We have about 8 different comp locations.

- We welcome strangers, newbies, other clubs, and anyone else who wants to have some fun.

That sounds like a good plan on the points and raffle. Planning the comps in advance should make it easier for every one to make it.
So let's get plans on the first comp going

I originally thought the first comp would be up toward Knoxville, but since the last comp was at Steve's... it's our turn to have one down here. So the rotation this year will start more southward.

Just finished checking out the place where I want to have it. Look for the post in a couple of days?

The date will be OCTOBER 29. So go ahead and plan for that day.
