| Another place for you guys to play
Hi all, I noticed some of you guys were down in my neck of the woods during the Glen Rose comp y'all had. There is another place that is about 20 minutes away from glen rose that is just as big and much less populated than big rox. It is in a town called Blum. My friends and I go crawling there all the time in our 1:1. It is small for the 1:1 but it would be a mini moab for the scalers. Here is a couple pics of the place, these are all 1:1: |

If you are interested in this place, I have very detailed directions on how to get there from Cleburne. It is private land, and we have permission to be there, so it's legit.

P.S. The only R/C crawlers I have is the Nylint and the New bright, and I have had them both out there and had some fun challenging spots. My R/C's aren't comp quality, but I would bet that Blum has some stuff that would give comp guys a decent challeng!

Cool, y'all let me know when y'all go. Directions from Cleburne; Cleburne Court House, get on 174 South bound, Take 174 South--------- roughly 16-18 miles, Turn Left on to 933, Blum Stay on 933-------------------2-3 miles, Turn left on Hope Road(not sure if it's marked), noticable marker would be, an old convertable painted green with yellow flames(I know, it sounds stupid, but that's where you turn). Stay on that dirt road for about 200 yrds, watch to your left, You will see a break in the trees, and a path down a hill, Take the hill and go right, YOU ARE THERE! Take caution, if you are in a car the entrance can be a little steep for a car. A 2wd truck or SUV can make it as long as it doesn't sit too low, but if you can't get down the hill, you can park by the dirt road and walk down in there. From Cleburne to Blum: From 174 down to the site, this map does not show the Nolan, but I asure you it is there! |

| I am a transplant. I have only lived in Texas 2 years. From what I am told from the locals, Barnwell is OK, but not a great place for RC rock crawlers and that it is a mediocre place for 1:1's. Again, this is what I am told, I have never been there. As for the Tyler area, it has not turned out to have multiple great comp spots (for RC rock crawling) the way the DFW area seems to have. But again, since I am new, I don't know the area and I am unsure where to even look. So I confess my ignorance .

Nova's Ark; You should go check out BMRA, I have never been there with a R/C crawler, but I have been there several times with 1:1. Next time I go, I plan to take my li'l Nylint and tear it up 1:6 style ;). Certain trails like L & B turn pike, Saturday night Live, Fun Country and some others that I can't thnk of right now would be a blast with the R/C.
