Everything is newbie friendly. Some parts harder than others but nothing impossible and no required winching. Most of us prefer to drive our RC's and not dig out a little winch line.

It's all pretty much natural, not distinct track. If you go all the way to the north end of the park where the loop is you will find the creek bed back in the woods. It's less than 50 feet from the parking area. I might try to swing by there this afternoon if time permits. I'll be in a black toyota 4runner and have a bald head.

Mainly different scale courses. It's really open to whatever everyone wants.

The terrain is varied and the rules flexible. We're really trying to get a feel for what people want at this point.

Last time we had two short courses and one long. Terrain varied from rocks, to sand, to uphill dirt and rock, to logs. Maybe if we get more rain a little mud will be mixed in. We also plan on some truck pulling.

Mainly we are not looking for the rules to be too technical so as to alienate beginners.

Here is some more info on RC Tuff Truck and the general rules we go by:

There are at least 6-8 I know of. However, last time only a few people even mentioned online they were coming and probably around 25 showed up. It's always hard to get a good bead on numbers.

I put my new Crawlmaster 11T in my Wraith this week and chewed up my idler gear in my trans. I've already ordered 2 sets of hardened steel to put in both of my trucks...new one should be here Monday

One will have the 11T and the other will have the custom wound 18T, both Crawlmasters...looking forward to the fun!!!

Man the event is getting close, I'm working on my roll cage now of my Yota.

As far as newbs don't worry these first few events will be real casual, we are basically rebooting the Houston area club so things will start real slow as we get a feel for what the people in the area want.

Don't for get to hit RC Gearheads site for all the info, I will also be updating the front page to advertise Houston RC Events.

It s going to be a great event. I went to The park last monday and it s great but for crawling, you need a strong transmission because my 2 c- drive were dead after 10 minutes....

I think at one thing, it seems that there is few guys ready to meet to have fun, can we organize something like one time a week?

Ok I will be bringing 2 1.9s (Jeep YJ and a XJ) and my 2.2 tuber. If I get it done in time I might bring the one I am building for the wife it is a 1.9 losi with X-trail chassis and a Jeep Liberty body to match her 1:1. If anyone is going to be bringing comp rigs let me know and I will bring mine. Also if anyone has a FOFF I might bring my Whiplash out also.

Their are some decent spots to run your comp rig, so go ahead and bring it. There is also a lot of sand so the FOFF should find plenty of play time. No deep sand pits but some decent sand slopes and what not. It's really a mixed bag out there with a little something for everything.
