Default Non bias opinion on the Badlands VS Claws

I got my badlands today, I ran 3 packs through them. Here is my take on them.

Verticals: The claws have a slight edge on the pure verticals on a smoth sandstone type rock, a very slight edge, almost non existant. The badlands did do everything the claws did, but the badlands didn't hook imediatly out of the bag. I did this testing first and whasn't impressed, but when I came back 2 packs later they were hooking just like the losi's.
Verdict: After the Badlands got scuffed up they hooked as well as the losi's, but a slight win for the claws here, like I said both tires made everything I tried.

Sidehilling: What can I say, the badlands flat outpreformed the losi's when it came to side hilling. Not even close in my opinion. There were a few lines the badlands made that I couldn't hold with the claws. The truck felt like it was stuck to the rock face, even at crazy off camber angles, so much so that the only way they stopped was when the truck rolled over.
Verdict: Badlands, no question.

Overall preformance: Honestly other than the sidehilling I realy couldn't tell a difference in general driving. The badlands seemed to steer better than the claws, as in the front got pushed aroung less and did alot more turning. The carcass felt very nice, not to thin and not to thick, lug spacing was very nice and the lugs are short enough to not fold over.
Verdict: They are both awsome tires, hard to chose between each one. If I was running nothing but vertical climbs on slick rock I would run the claws. For me and all teh differing terrain in SERCRC territory I am going to be putting the Badlands on my aluminum rims and they will be my comp tire for now.

Note: I bought all my tires.

Ok, set on the tyres (Sidehilling is a very important factor for me), now have to find a decent foam setup

Are the tires the same size?

Not the spec size, but the real life side by side size?

Not the way I would have, but hey.....

Anyhooo... I was really hoping these were gonna be taller. They're shorter than Moabs & M@K's correct?

Thanks for the great write-up and the time you spent testing.

I have another question. I saw that you used the same foams in each. Were both sets of foams new or close to new? I know there is a big difference in sidehill and lateral stability with wornout foams. Were the wheel widths the same?

I envision the Badlands sidehilling better because of the tread pattern and I would also assume they have a stiffer carcass which would help with their lateral stability.

Is that your take on it?

I know,,,, details, details. Thanks for the info though.

Well done on the review, I was really glad to see that you used the same foam setup in both tires.

You found about what I would have expected, as the Claw's have never held sidehills very well for me.

Good write up !!! If I descide to ditch the redrocks someday(which I seriously doubt) Then the badlands will be next. Because if I see another dag gone truck with claws!! LOL

Hey Kamakazi, will you be at foto?? IF so I would like to see just how bad the redrocks are. since you have had them, and all the others.
