Default Steel beadlock Rings does it make sense in fact of weight

Hi,
Im new in the crawler scene and from the netherlands. I d like to know if it makes sense to build the beadlock rings out of steel or stainless steel to higher the weight of the tires with these part instead of weights inside the rims.

The problem with doing them out of steel is the machine time, and the fact that the cutters will not go as far duribility wise, i.e. elevated cost, I've played with the idea my self and the guys( machine shop) cringe when I tell them thats what I want.

Just happens that I am in a position to make them run them for me-Solomon007(DNA R/C) older brother, so basically I get what I want.

While it definitely would add some weight, I don't think it would be enough. Chances are, most people would still end up adding extra weight.

But hey - if you can find someone with a waterjet or a laser to cut a few for you, I'd say give it a shot.

I did the same thing with the 1" washers except that with TLT axles I was able to put them on the inside bead of the wheel.
