Default RC4WD Out Croppers ***Testing Pics and vid added*****

I just got a set of the new RC4WD Out Croppers. Man are these nice tires. They are noticeably softer than my Rock Stompers. I think these things are going to do very well in the terrain I drive in.

I'll write up a review after I test them.

Yep, and there's not a battery or wheel weights in.

They are sold for $20 for two tires at RPP.

I have to say thanks to RPP for the super fast shipping. I got an email from them a hour after I placed the order saying they shipped. I ordered them on 8/5, and got them on 8/7.

I got to testing the Out Croppers today. I bought these tires of my Land Rover build, but the rover isn't ready, so I tested the tires with my beater truck.

I don't have the wheel the tires are going on yet, so I put them on a set of wheels I had laying around. The tires were not glued, and the air holes were not plugged for this test. I was using the stock foams, and no wheel weights.

Out Croppers specs.
Outer Diameter: 4.09" (104mm)
Width: 1.45" (37mm)
Inner Diameter: 1.9" (48mm)

First off, these tires are softer than other RC4WD tires, so grip is improved in all conditions. The tires compressed quite a bit, but would probably compress less with the tire glued and the holes in the wheels plugged.

I ran the tires on dry and wet rock, loose shale, mud, and through the water. These tires worked well in all the terrain conditions. The tread pattern allowed the tires to bite nicely, I could hear the treads really biting.

These tires allowed me to go places and do things I could never do with my Rock Stompers (I still love my stompers).

Here's a short video of the tires in action.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWBfk_Hp6Po

Same vid, better quality (give it a minute to load.)

On to the pics. None of the pics are posers.

The Out Croppers eat up the dry rock.

You can see the tires compress.

Those of you that have run on loose shale, know how hard it can be to crawl on. The out croppers did well on the shale.

Even wet and muddy the tires still had great bite.

Not a poser shot. (See video below)

I'm sold on these tires. I think RC4WD is going to sell a lot of these tires.

As far as I know, they are only available in 1.9 wheel size right now.

I was surprised that I made it up that waterfall also. I've run there before with other local crawlers, and nobody has ever made it up that without a tow.

Hmmmmmmm. Seems like the Stompers might have a better option now. They look very Nitto-ish, lol. Good writeup.

I just picked up a set of these as well alongside a set of Trail Dr. XL Softs I have to say with just a little initial testing I think I like the Outcroppers better.

As Stburr91 says, these are definitely the best compound from RC4WD. I think the Trail Dr. are a little softer (even in their hardest compound) but the taller lugs of the outcroppers seemed to make a bigger difference.

I'd also mention I thought the foam in these are much better than what has come with Rock Stompers and Rock Crushers.

Size wise, I'll try to get a picture up, but they are shorted than the Trail Dr. Just by a few mm's

Stburr91 - did the bead of your outcroppers fit in the groove on those HPI 26mm stockers? The bead on my set was considerabley wider and I really had to sort of massage the tire into place to get them to seat right on those touring car wheels. I ending up just using Eritex beadlocks.
