Default Proline 23mm adapters on top of Maxx/Clod adapters?

Well first off let me introduce myself, ME MONGO, anyhow if you have'nt figured it out already Im new to the rockcrawling aspect of RC, I own a Revo, Hyper 7, T-Maxx, Mini-T(Wifes) and my most recent purchase was a Gecko 60/40 chassis that I am in the middle of assembling. Well enough about me my question is this, I already have the RC Guy Cold to Maxx adapters and I want to run a set of Commando beadlocks. So I was wondering if I could just buy a set of Prolines 23mm adapters and mount them on the RC Guys adapter. Has anyone tried this? or something similar? It looks like the Proline adapter would bolt on right over the RC Guys adapter. Thank you guys in advance for the help.

I don't think that will work because of the disign of the Proline adapters. But it may. Or you could pm BENDER because I think he makes some clod to 23mm adapters.

Thanks for the input Mike, It was just an idea. I thought doing this would be cheaper than having someone fab some for me.

I would definately recomend a set of Bender adapters they work great on the comandos..

and you might want to think about wheel wideners since they will most likely rub without them

the Clod-Maxx adapters use a Maxx-sized (14mm) hex on the wheel side. Pro-Line's 23mm hexes go directly over the axle pin, eliminating the 14mm hex. so no, that won't work.

we got a set of the silver Commandos at the LHS, and dizzayum, they're heavy! no need for wheel weights with these babies.

If it does work, think about the extra stress on the knuckles and steering components due to the extra track width.

Quick question, why doesn't somebody make rock rings the right size so that one could mount 40 series to standard maxx wheels? Ones like RC Alloys for the TXT.

NO, it DOESN'T work. Bender's adapters use a hex to mount the wheel. Pro-Line's adapters don't mount to a hex. therefore, you're not going to get them to mount up, unless you can think of a way to make a 2.5mm x 12mm slot fit over a 14mm hex. it ain't gonna happen.

microgoat is right, mine have a hex in the backside, Pro-line uses the stock Maxx crosspin.

Who is BENDER and how do i get in touch with him. If those adapters work on Clod axles to mount Proline HD Beadlocks I need them.
