| .... BADLANDS...Will they RISE aswell ? Hey guys... I couldn't really find anything on Badlands since all the new stuff has been coming out.. Chisels Rocx CompClaws ... The old-school Badlands & Losi Claws have been my BEST/FAVORITE since I started crawling (still a Rookie) But they have worked AWESOME for me. I'm glad to see that they made new LOSI CLAWS with the height to compete with the others.... Is there a BADLANDS in the works that will match the height...? |

I dont speak for proline or know much about it but i would seriously doubt it. The molds to make tires are really expensive. I can imagine a compound change to the G8 but in a bigger size i doubt it. I always liked the badlands also and i would buy them if they did but i dont see it happening. I couple guys i have seen cut up the badlands and mount them around larger tires so thats an option you might want to look at . This is Run2Jeepin's 2.2 clod with modified badlands. |

There are a number of threads on here about cutting and shutting tires but the basics are very simple. The first time i did some i had no experience and just started cutting and whipped out some extra thin CA and went for it. They turned out ok and i have been doing my own ever since if i needed them. There are a number of different styles that people do. Some of them take the better traction part of a good tire and glue it around a cheaper tire. Badlands over stock axial tires are popular with the Clod 2.2 guys because they are very tall to increase pumpkin clearance. Some people cut out the sidewalls of a taller tire and glue on contact part, others glue them right over the sidewall tire. This is also very common in the super class due to a limited tire choice in the very large tires required (right now only proline moabs and rc4wd make a stock crawlable tire in 40 series). Dont be afraid of cutting and gluing them. Start on an old set of tires. Stop and really think about how you want them to be before you start cutting. Complete all 4 tires just for the practice. You may or may not like how they turn out. If you dont like them and dont feel comfortable with doing it then you only wasted an old set of tires and at least you tried. You will get better with practice but its not for everyone. Good luck and post up some pics if you decide to give it a shot. | |

The Compound from badlands to The New tires is no Match. When I switched to Rovers on my Clod. It made a world of difference. I pulled lines with the Rovers do to compound. Not height... I would just get some new Taller Tire with a newer compound. You will be happier. I made those tires a long time ago... Before we had taller 2.2's.. Before Losi even had Claws... |
